Calvary Chapel At The Cross

After the 9-11 attacks, Pastor Drew Segawa heard God's call to come to Queens, New York City to be involved in a Calvary Chapel church plant. To God's credit and God's glory, he moved here as a missionary in 2002 with not much except God's word, God's calling and his relationship with the Lord.

Following the Lord's leading, this church was actually birthed out of a garage. Yet - at the time - without much money, without a job, and only knowing a handful of New Yorkers, Drew has seen God's faithfulness as the Lord has done "exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen." (Ephesians 3:20-21)

To this day, this fellowship has never asked for a single penny, yet has seen God create and sustain this fellowship, seemingly out of nothing. Pastor Drew was a full time teacher on staff at Calvary Chapel Bible College in South Orange County, California just prior to his move to New York. He also currently works at the American Bible Society, managing America's largest Bible grant for prisons through the God Sets You Free program.
